'Hi, my name is Ren Gallet, I lost my leg 43 years ago from a bike accident just before my 17th birthday. I was quite a good ice skater at the time but was told i would'nt be able to do it anymore, so gave it up. I played golf for a number of years(badly unfortunately)and was introduced into playing in amputee tornaments by Geoff Nicholas. I have since competed in 2 British , 1 Canadian, 1 U.S. and 1 Australian championship event, and the more recent Victorian championships.
Because my son decided he wanted to play inline hockey, i got the bug to skate again and compete in able bodied competitions regularly, so i'm torn between the hockey and the golf and love playing both. I still play golf badly but love getting together with other amps and sharing our stories and having fun. The comradeship is important, the golf takes care of itself. REN.
