Name Wayne Riches
DOB 27/9/54
Live Redwood Park Adelaide SA
  • Married and have two children
I played active competetive sports including Cricket, Baskettball, Mixed
Netball, Golf and recently Ten Pin Bowling.

As I grew older ( into my late 30's ) cricket, basketball & mixed netball disappeared as my health failed. I was an insulin dependent diabretic from age 14 and at age 39 my kidneys finally gave in so
dialisys began so golf also stopped.

I have been very fortunate to have received a double organ transplant
(kidney & pancreas) in November 1995.

I wanted to start another sport ten pin bowling became the one.

After being involed in a car accident in 2005 complications from
vascular problems in my right foot resulted in a below knee amputation
    in may 2006.

Since the amputation I have reurned to ten pin bowling and am starting golf again.

Thanks to the dedication of Gary Hart my interest in golf has returned
and with the coaching available I am sure that the interst will continue.

I urge any amputee in SA to contact Gary and become involved in the
    first swing golf clinics.

Come on give it a go and enjoy yourself!
