Ray "Pipes" Piper
Age  58
Lost right leg below knee while on active duty in South Vietnam Jun 1970. Served with 3rd Cavalry Regiment as a commander on armoured Personnel carries and impacted a land mine. Served in Military, both Army and Air Force for 29 years, as an Air Traffic Controller. Retired in September 1996.
 
Playing golf since age of about 12 and have had a handicap as low as 3. Current handicap 12.
 
Member of Helensvale Golf Club and Gold Coast Country Club QLD
 
Returned to golf in 1971 and competed with the Limbless Soldiers Association Golf Club of NSW and was State champion 72-75.
Senior Champion 2002 World Series Golf Tournament The Lakes Golf Club Sydney.
Senior Champion 2007 Australian Amputee Open Horizons Golf Club Salamander Bay.(runner up 2 previous yrs)
Captain 2007 Robinson Cup International Team Orchard Hills Chicago USA.
Foundation member Amputee Golf Australia - NSW Inc. Formed in 2002.
Travel regularly to compete in US and Canadian National Tournaments.

Employed by Air Services Australia as National Procedures(Air Traffic Control)Specialist. located at Brisbane Airport.
Advanced Diploma Aviation-Air Traffic Services.
 
Married to Valerie (saint) for in excess of 35 years, two children, Rebecca and Glen, three grandchildren
